A bookworm gets happy!!

The day started with a powercut, which resumed after a gap of 4weeks. Couple of hours later my laptop got discharged and the power was not due for another 3 hours. Decided to do some market visit. Went to a different part of the city today; where I've never been before.

And lo! there it was.. CROSSWORD.. my fav bookstore. Never knew there was one in Nagpur.
Now I know how my weekends will be. Can't wait for my next Sunday afternoon...

A wish unfulfilled...

Work takes me to Mumbai once every month. I rarely get time to roam around as I usually reach by the last flight of the day and leave by the first flight out. But one of the good things is my company guest house at Prabhadevi. Right beside the beach, the GH is on the 10th floor offering stunning views of the upcoming Bandra-Worli sealink.

Now there is this certain actress (well, not among the top heroines but more of an item number gal; but what the heck!) who lives on the 7th floor. Every time as I take that elevator and the indicator show "7", I wait, patiently, praying... that at least for once, it opens… opens to her... But nah! not happened in last five months..

But optimistic; that I am... one day... one great day... one fine day... the day of all days... those sliding doors will part.... Jannat!!!

Finally a Good Weekend...

Of late, work has always kept me busy with me ending up working on most Sundays.
This particluar weekend was different. Had to come down to Bombay for a meeting with my boss. Friday night; dinner party at Not Just Jazz by the Bay. I do prefer the adjoining Pizzeria coz it is open you can feel the sea breeze. Nevertheless, the dinner was grrr8.

Had loads of work on Saturday as well and by the time we got out of office it was 10 in the night. But a friend suggested we go to this place called Oven Fresh for dinner. Another round of Italian, puurfect.

Met a good ole friend for lunch today. Felt really good to see her. Its been almost a year since we last saw each other. I just love the momos at Noodle Bar and we went there for lunch. Great company, great food and booze for lunch. Man! I really had a good time. Also picked up a bottle of Red Wine and the latest Chetan Bhagat on the way.

Hoping to get more time to read. Got a few books to finish off before my next round of book shopping.
And my increasing weight.. is something that I reaally should start worrying about now.

Home… Sweet Home…

There was a time, when all I wanted was to travel. Now that I’ve traveled quite a bit, all that I want to do is return home… Gosh! I’m so homesick these days.

I'm sitting here in the boring room... It's just another rainy Sunday afternoon… I'm wasting my time, I got nothing to do (yeah, yeah, I’ve borrowed this from the Yellow Lemon Tree song; but hey! Its actually kinda true)

Anyway, just started browsing through my photo album. Started missing Kochi all over again. All I want to do is watch sunset while walking along marine drive munching on peanuts... take a boat ride…or spend a lazy Sunday afternoon ambling along the streets of Fort Kochi, watching the fishermen work the Chinese fishing nets with ships sailing in the background.. Just feel the wind in your hair and taste the salty air… Oh! How I wish I was home right now…

Sunday, bloody Sunday..

Well, I'm sick with life. Job's giving me a lot of pressure of late and I'm bored to death.
Have nothing to do and I'm stuck in my hotel at Raipur. Am not feeling like going out also. Was contemplating whether to get out of bed and go for breakfast. Decided against it, as there is a good 2hours before the coffeshop closes for breakfast. Was flipping through channels. Nothing interesting to watch. Then stumbled upon Zee Studio where Meredith Wilson's: The Music Man was going on. Watching the musical has certainly lifted my spirits. Its been a while since I've seen a good musical. Planning to watch The Sound of Music and Singing In The Rain once I reach home and get my CD collection. Hope, my Sunday.. bloody Sunday turns out to be a Musical Sunday...

Was watching TV after a really long time... By some strange coincidence, I went watching dance shows all evening.. Started with one of my all time favourite, Boogie Woogie on SONY... There was an amazing composition by a team from Vadodara... really superb... then there was some show on SURYA TV, Vodafone Taka-Timi on Asianet and Rangoli on SURYA... Felt really good to watch some good performances...

When was the last time I went berserk and danced like no one was watching?? (or dance when no one was watching)... I really don't remember... Have got so tangled up with my job that I really don't get to do the things that I really care for... I stopped reading also for the past few weeks...

Am a mess right now... Hope I see clarity soon...

A wanderer once again...

After spending a good (extremely extremely good) 3 weeks in Bangalore, I'm on the move again... But somehow, I feel really bored this time.. Its just for a week but still I feel tired and lonely... One moment you are surrounded by friends; I mean really good friends and then you are alone again...

Not able to cope up with this sudden change... Can't wait for this trip to end so that I can go back to Bangalore...

During the first week of my job, my company arranged a trip for all the trainees to Mysore. It was my second trip to the place but we went to more places this time as one of us knew the place very well. The best sight is Mysore is Tipu’s palace which gets lit up at night. It is an amazing sight to watch. But since we had to return to Bangalore early, we had to give that sight a miss…
